São Paulo – SP, 1992
Kairos Castro is a poet, drag king, cultural producer, and one of the presenters and producers of TRANSarau, an art collective of Trans-vesti-gender (Transvestigeneres) people in São Paulo.
His poetics dialogue with his essence, showing part of his personal universe and the strength of trans-vesti-gender bodies. He is an activist not only for the LGBTIQA+ cause but also against all forms of oppression in society.
Through writing, art has always been present in Kairos’s life. He also works in other disciplines, such as dance, video, and performance. Always inspired by other bodies that also don’t follow the standards expected by society, the artist understands his role in the world to be that of intermediating and presenting possibilities, showing to anyone who wants to see, the existence of other possibilities.
In 2020, his piece “O Afogado” [“The Drowned”] was one of the works selected for the #QuarentenaProjetada project, from Mídia Ninja.
