Salvador – BA, 1958
Hemeh Passo’s artistic production began in the 1990s and is characterized by the appropriation of several materials which she uses as support to create diverse possibilities through her experimentations, as well as to subvert traditional techniques such as painting.
With her installation series “Prateleria de parade” [“Shelf”] (2019), the artist challenges the rigid and logical limits of space with her graceful, sensual, and harmonious movements, which seem to jump at the observer, enmesh, and trap them. The artist also explores the potential of colors over malleable supports.
Hemeh Passos has taken part in many solo and collective shows. “Superfícies Provisórias” (2019) was her most recent solo show, at the Art Museum of Bahia (MAB). Since 2010, the artist shares her extensive artistic creation through her social media.
